Air Fryer Onion Rings

 1 Large Onion
 1 cup All-purpose flour
 1 ½ cups panko breadcrumbs
 1 cup buttermilk
 1 tsp paprika
 1 tsp garlic powder
 1 egg (beaten)
 ½ tsp salt
 ½ tsp pepper
 Cooking oil spray

Cut the stems off both sides of the onion. Cut and separate onion into ½-inch thick round rings. Set aside.

Prepare 3 shallow bowls or deep plates.

In the first bowl, combine all-purpose flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

In the second bowl, combine buttermilk and egg, then gradually add ¼ cup of flour mixture from the first bowl and stir to combine.

In the third bowl, add panko breadcrumbs.

Using a fork, dredge each ring in this order: FLOUR MIXTURE, BUTTERMILK MIXTURE, and BREADCRUMBS.

Freeze the coated onion rings for at least 30 minutes.

Preheat the air fryer to 375º F.

Lightly spray the air fryer container with oil and place frozen onion rings (be careful not to stack them. To save time and energy, you can use a rack like any of these ones to create a second layer, and if you need to cook more at the same time, you can create a third layer by using one of these stackable racks bundles..

Fry for 10-12 minutes. Flip halfway if necessary.
